can't edit update

Posted: Tuesday, 25 Oct 2005 10:57:58 PM -- by Chris

A message says it can not be edited because of embeded fonts that I do not have on my computer. Stephane, would it be too much to ask what fonts you used or if you could send them. Thanks.

I can't edit!

Posted: Tuesday, 25 Oct 2005 10:46:48 PM -- by Chris

Well I downloaded the new release and it worked. now I am trying to learn from it and i can not edit it to see how it was done. any suggestions? Also, I was wondering how to take a file such as a logo and have it transition to a lower right corner such as where the logo is for this file.

My office has a screen behind the receptionist and I would like for our company logo to fill the screen then transition down to the lower right and stay there through-out. Thanks

Chris

Trial version...

Posted: Friday, 14 Oct 2005 2:58:56 PM -- by Erik Mattsson

Chris,

The trial version available on the web should be Release 7.4. To see what version your using in the main menu, click Tools->Options, then click on the info tab. It will list the Release of the software you have.

If Stephane created the published script with a newer version of Designer (Release 7.1 or better), and your using a Release earlier than that, then you can't play it. You would need to install a newer trial version of Designer.

So the download is for an older version and IC3 can not use this script? Am I understanding you right? I downloaded IC3 to try out. Also, have you heard of anyone displaying time zone clocks with scala?

Thanks

Different versions

Posted: Thursday, 13 Oct 2005 11:29 AM -- by Erik Mattsson

Chris,

The Designer system is using a newer version of the software than the Player(s) systems.

The supported update order is:

Network Manager -> Player(s) -> Designer(s).

Update all your systems to the same Release.

Erik Mattsson

Help, NEWBIE

Posted: Sunday, 9 Oct 2005 10:14:42 PM -- by Chris

Hi all,

I am new to Scala and I am trying to learn how to use this program to really test if it is something I want to use. When i tried to load the downloaded file from the link, Scala gave me an error message saying it can not find "embedded.sca.scb" What do i need to do, or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Chris

The file is back online.

This link http://www.doitdifferently.com/Scala/Telecine_Global_Crawl_T
not worked...
Where I can download this example?

Found it!

Posted: Wednesday, 1 Jun 2005 7:00:54 PM -- by Deborah Anderson

It's on the Effect Tab when designing, in case anyone else is looking for it...........Select Backdrop Image

It has to do with the background doesn't it?

Posted: Wednesday, 1 Jun 2005 4:47:30 PM -- by Deborah

I have to figure out how to do that.........It's a new thing with the new release, right?

Thanks!

I saved it to my machine and opened it with designer and could see the design perfectly! I'm excited to try some options on my own. Thanks!

Question: How is the logo an "expression" rather than a file??

Globalcrawl not in iplay

Posted: Wednesday, 1 Jun 2005 3:47 AM -- by Mikael Olausson

Hello Deborah,

He is using a feature that's not available in iPlay.
Globalcrawl can only be viewed with Designer an Player software
that's why you dont see anything except the pages.

Furthermore - since he's not using a Goto-function, the example
don't loop since iPlay doesn't do that by default.
That's why it might seem very brief with two pages just "flashing by" and then exit.

regards - Mike

What am I doing wrong?

Posted: Tuesday, 31 May 2005 6:34:47 PM -- by Deborah

I opened your file, Steph, and it played via iplay, just a few seconds. All I see is a blank blue screen that gradually turns to red-violet.

I'm sure there is something I need to do to see it correctly

Very Clever Stéphane!

Great Idea messing with the pixel stepping.. Too Cool

When there is Scala there is a way.

I have a trick that might work for you, It's a logo with time and date as a global crawl, see exemple here to learn how it's done:

Place the image or variable on each page.

Posted: Monday, 23 May 2005 10:37 AM -- by John Schilling

john schillingDevelop a "template page" to work from. Start with that template for each page.

For time. Place "!Time" on each page where you which the current time displayed.

For a logo, place the image where you wish it. [likely topmost/alpha-blended]
