vladimir zecevicHi,

Communicating with a display device is a quite easy task, but answering the question about it is not. Simply every manufacturer (or almost every) has its own commands for communication.

So if you find general Serial Port COMM program you will still have to integrate it in your system.

We have solutions for sending SMS to appropriate person if player or display fails but we know in detail every aspect of the client network. For such solution you should contact the VAR who have sold you your system and ask them if they are capable of providing such feature.

You would first need a display device that reported error codes...

john schillingFew display devices are really equipped with HW-status monitoring. You would 1st need a display device that could report failures.

Hi,
Would anyone have any suggestions for a good software that will run in the background, while a player is running, continuously sending out commands over RS232 to monitor the health of displays and send a message of some sort in case of a failure?
We currently use plasma screens and projectors, and do not have a clue if a fault develops on any, for eg. the lamps on a projector failing.
